How to export and import Primavera P6 database schema using Oracle data pump utility 

 

Database: Oracle 

 

If you have Oracle Enterprise Edition installed and export/import larger Primavera p6 database schemas than considering the following link. It has compression and parallel processing enabled, so the dump file will be small and time it takes to process is small. 🙂 

How to export and import Primavera P6 database using Oracle data pump utility

 

Export P6 schemas 

  • Login into database as sysdba. For example:  

 

 

  • Create a directory in  your file system and issue the following SQL with the dir location

 

 

 

  • Export the p6 schemes using the data pump utility

 

 

 

Import Database 

 

  • Login into Oracle database as SYSDBA

 

  • Create a directory in  your file system and issue the following SQL with the dir location

 

 

 

  • Place your exported dump files in the above folder

 

  • Go tp <P6_HOME>\database\scripts\install\PM_<VERSION> and run the following files . These scripts creates tablespaces, users, and grants. 

 

 

 

  • Import the P6 schemas using data pump utility 

 

 

 

Check for database invalid Object: 

Once you imported the database schemas. Check for any invalid objects 

 

  • Login in Oracle database as sys dba 

 

  • Run the below query for invalid database objects and run the output
