How to create ADF Library jar file?

In this section, We have explained how to create ADF library jar file, and how to add this library to a project. A deployment profile is required to create ADF library jar file, and File system connection in Resource palette is required to add or remove the jar file to a project for reuse. The following topics are covered in this section

A) Create a Deployment Profile

B) Deploy an ADF project as ADF Library Jar File

D) Add the jar file to another project for reuse the ADF components

A) Create a Deployment Profile

  1. Double clock on the project >> Click on the Deployments >> Click New Profile

2. Select ADF Library Jar file as Profile Type >> Input a Profile Name >> Click Ok

3. In the profile property Wizard , configure the following property and Click Ok

Library Dependency: Choose the dependent project if any

Connections: Choose connection name or Connection Details

Jar Options: Add dependent jar files if any, here you can change the default deployment location of ADF Library jar file

ADF Validation: Choose either ignore errors /Stop processing

Click Ok again

B) Deploy an ADF project as ADF Library Jar file

 

  1. Right click on the project where the deployment profile was created >> Select Deploy >> Select the profile

2. Click Next

3. Click Finish. The jar file will be stored in the location marked in the wizard

C) Create a File System connection in Resource Palette

First, we need to create to create a connection in Resource window. To do this

1. Go to Windows >> Select Resources

2. In the Resource window >> Click on the folder icon>> IDE Connections >> File System

3. Add the folder where the ADF Library jar file exits >> Click Ok

D) Add or Remove ADF Library jar file to the project

Now we have the connection established in the resource window. We can add now the

1. Select the Project >> Expand the file connection in Resource window >> Right click on the jar file and select ‘Add to Project.’

2. Click Add Library

3. Now the library is added to the project. The jar can be removed by right click on the jar in the Resources and select Remove from Project.

By adding the jar file, we can ADF components of the jar file like AppModule, EO/VO object, Data control, DB Connection, Tag library as like below
