How to setup JMS as a Migratable service with in a WebLogic Cluster (12C)

This section we briefly described setup JMS server in a WebLogic cluster to support failover recovery and automatic migration using WebLogic Migratable targets. Some services such as JMS, JTA, and singleton objects are designed to run in only one active server instance in a cluster. These types of services are called Pinned Service. Pinned services cannot be deployed to multiple managed servers in a cluster. What happened if one of the deployed services in the server went down or failed? The solution is migratable targets. A migratable target is a special target which migrates the deployed service from one server to another server in a cluster automatically or manually in case any failure occurs.

WebLogic Session Replication- In Memory (12C)

WebLogic supports different types of Session Replication. They are In-memory, File based and JDBC bases session replications. This section, we walk through about In-Memory based Session replication. Here the session is saved in Memory; that is RAM. When a session is established in the deployed application, WebLogic copies the session state from active server to another server in the same cluster so if the server loaded fully or failover occurs then the other server will take care of the client.

Setting up WebLogic Load Balancer (12C)

WebLogic Load Balancer acts as a mediator between the user and cluster instances. It takes care of the incoming request from the user and outgoing response from the user. First, the load balancer receives the incoming request, identifies one server in the cluster to handle the request, pass the request to the server. Once the server finishes the processing, it responds back to the load balancer than the load balancer sends the response back to the user.

How to set JDeveloper default browser (12C)

When we run a web application from JDeveloper, the application deploys and opens in a browser. The change of default browser setting at system level won't affect the JDeveloper. We need to set the default browser settings manually in JDeveloper 12C. Follow the instruction to set it

WebLogic Cluster on same machine (12C)

WebLogic cluster has more than one WebLogic Server running parallel to solve server failovers, and provide scalability. Depends on the machine performance like CPU speed, processors, memory and hard disk space, we could add, delete and stop the WebLogic server instance in a cluster while it is running. A cluster is part of a WebLogic domain.

WebLogic NodeManager installNodeMgrSvc: The system cannot find the path specified

Today I have received a wierd error while installing WebLogic Node Manager as a Windows service. When I run the installNodeMgrSvc.cmd from command prompt, I received an error "The System cannot find the path specified" marked in red box below. The script is not taking the path of file wlsvcX64.exe correctly. I mentioned it in blue color arrow.

ADF Database sequence using Groovy

We may have a database sequence that generate a primary key for the table. During the manual SQL insert query, we refer .nextval to generate the next unique key for the primary key column. We could apply the same solution in ADF Entity object declaratively using groovy expression.

ADF DBSequence for table using trigger and sequence

In some database schema, we may have enabled a database 'Before Insert Trigger' for a table which inserts an auto generated sequence number in primary key field when an inserts happen. When we create an Entity Object for the same table in ADF and insert a record, it will throw an error for Primary key field cannot be empty/null. To solve this, Open the EO, select the primary key field, change type to DBSequence as shown below. After this, ADF EO uses the database trigger to insert primary key value

ADF ListView Load More

Initially, the ADF list view loads number of rows mentioned in the Range Size property. A 'Load More' link is available at the bottom right corner of the list view component which is used to load next set of items when it got clicked. The list view will keep on grow until it fetches the last record from the table whenever the link got clicked. It gives very good performance because it not loads all the records in single stretch.
